Water Analysis
The influence of the human race on the environment has resulted in a real threat to the quality of water in our rivers, streams and the sea itself. Industrial effluent can have a devastating effect by introducing many poisonous compounds and potentially toxic elements into the water supply. This could have adverse effects on humans, animals and vege-tation and so the need for reliable monitoring for a host of contaminants is of paramount importance.
Water quality monitoring, however, is now readily available for water supply companies, regulatory bodies and industry alike through the latest generation of instrumentation. By regular checks, contaminant levels can be kept within the legislative safety levels, minimising the threat to us all. Accurate, reliable and reproducible measurements of a variety of vitally important parameters in water can be made by non-specialist personnel using the most up to date technology.
AQUALYTIC LED filter photometers are microprocessor controlled, multiwavelength analysers which have been designed specifically for water and waste water analysis. Surface mount technology and robust engineering are combined to bring high precision analysis both in the field and in the laboratory.

System Specifications
The AL 250 Photometer has been designed by experts in this field of analysis to produce fast, precise measurements.
The instrument is housed in a compact, robust casing, which offers a high degree of protection from spray water, yet is designed for ergonomic operation.
The foil keyboard, which incorporates an acoustic feedback beeper, is scratch resistant, water resistant and capable of withstanding attack by acids and solvents.
The electronic components are sealed to provide maximum protection against corrosion.
The cell compartment is hermetically sealed from the electronics to prevent any possible damage from accidental spillage.
The light source and photoelectric cell are also protected in a splashproof housing.
Photometer AL 250
The AL 250 has been designed for versatile analysis of water. Powered from the mains supply or by battery, the instrument can be used wherever there is a requirement for analysis.
A crystal clear fourline information display provides unambiguous user instructions and indicates measurement results as well as the date and time.
Count-Down Function
For some methods, it is important to allow the colour reaction to proceed for a specific period of time before making the measurement. In these cases, the appropriate time delay is displayed when the Test key is pressed, and the timer automatically counts down before the measurement is made. An audible signal sounds wring the final ten seconds of the count-down. Test results are displayed as normal.
Data Storage and Print
Out Results may be stored or printed out together with details of date, time number, code number and test result. Any of the above criteria can be selected for printing. Up to 1.000 sets of results may be stored.
Auto-Check
Each time the AL 250 is switched on it performs an auto-check routine to determine if there is any contamination of optical components such as the windows in the cell compartment. After 200 measurements the AL 250 carries out an automatic self diagnosis system check. The cleaning kit supplied with the instrument may be used to clean the optical system if necessary.
Language Options
The instrument may be configured to display instructions in English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, or Danish.
The required language is simply selected when the instrument is first switched on.
Status Warnings
The AL 250 is equipped with a comprehensive system to detect nonstandard operating conditions, such as low battery charge, open photometer lid, excess turbidity in the water sample or a measurement outside the specified range. The instrument automatically indicates the appropriate action to be taken.
Temperature Compensation
Photometers are sensitive to variations in temperature. The AL 250 will not allow measurements to be made until it has stabilised at the current temperature.
Power Supply
A 9 V rechargeable battery and a 15 V mains charger are supplied as standard for the AL 250. An overload cut-out in the photometer protects the battery.
