 Description
The miniature L001U/L003U Ultra Low-Level Float Switches offer reliable and economical low-level switching for a wide variety of applications and media. Comprised of polypropylene or polysulfone/buna materials, these compact devices are capable of actuating in levels as low as ?". The switches can be top-mounted with a standard 1/8" NPT or 3/8" - 16 thread mounting (for L001U) and 3/8" - 24 thread mounting (for L003U. An adhesive-backed mounting surface also enables the L001U or L003U to be mounted alternatively at the bottom of a tank. With a larger displacement than other sub-compact models and various material options, the L001U and L003U are suitable for unlimited types of water-based, oil-based, low-density and ultra pure liquid media.
Principles of Operation
A hermetically-sealed reed switch is actuated by an internal magnet within the float. As the float rises and falls with the liquid level, the magnetic field passes the switch encapsulated within the stem and causes the contact to either open or close.
