Visual Level Indicators, or more commonly known as magnetic level indicators are designed to provide a visual indication of the media level within a tank or vessel. Visual level indicators or VLI's are passive devices, requiring no electrical power to visually project the level information. The VLI or Visual Level Indicator is attached to a liquid process vessel or process tank via the top, bottom and/or side mounted connections. The mounting connections allow liquid level equalization to take place between the tank and the level indication device. The magnetic float switch that is contained within the indicator's chamber fluctuates according to the tank's liquid level and actuates colored indicator flags, producing an accurate visual level representation.

Dip Tape Magnetic Float Visual Level Indicator
The L505 is a simple and economical dip tape level indicator designed for quick, continuous readings in remote and mobile storage tanks. The dip tape level indicator requires no power for operation and provides accurate visual level indication within 1/16”. Available construction materials include a brass/Buna-N combination and an all stainless steel option in a variety of threaded mounting sizes. Measuring lengths range from 6” to 6’ (15.24 cm to 1.8 m) in either customary, metric, or customary/metric combination steel tapes.

Its electronic-free operation provides safe, durable and easy-to-read indication in various liquids while remaining isolated from potential media contamination. The visual level indicator's 2½” (63.5 mm) diameter 316 stainless steel chamber is capable of withstanding pressures up to 750 PSIG (51.7 bar) and its versatile design can integrate separate point level switch outputs for alarm and valve control functions. Various threaded, flanged and weld connections are available to mount the unit on the top, bottom or side of the tank.

The visual level indicator's 1.25" chamber accepts a CS02 Capacitance or GW704 Guided Wave Radar Level Transmitter to provide continuous output readings correlating to the fluid level within the process vessel.
