Sure Cross® Wireless Q45 Sensors combine the best of Banner’s flexible Q45 sensor family with its reliable, field-proven, Sure Cross wireless architecture to solve new classes of applications limited only by the user’s imagination. Containing a variety of sensor models, a radio, and internal battery supply, this product line is truly plug and play. The Q45LP is a compact, industrial, battery-powered retroreflective-mode photoelectric sensor that can be used to wirelessly transmit presence/absence inputs and a totalized count to a wireless Gateway/Controller.

SureCross® Wireless Q45 Sensors combine the best of Banner’s flexible Q45 sensor family with its reliable, field-proven, SureCross wireless architecture to solve new classes of applications limited only by the user’s imagination. Containing a variety of sensor models, a radio, and internal battery supply, this product line is truly plug and play. The convergent sensor is ideal for reflective sensing of very small parts or profiles, and can accurately sense the position of parts approaching from the side. The sensor will ignore all but the most highly reflective objects that are outside the sensing range.

The Remote Device model is designed to interface with isolated dry contacts (pushbuttons), sourcing outputs, or Namur inductive proximity sensors. Although these models support two dry contact inputs, the default Gateway I/O mapping configuration of the Banner Q45 wireless system supports one dry contact input. To map the second dry contact input on the Q45, use the Gateway's DIP switches to map the I/O. See the Gateway's datasheet for details.

In opposed-mode sensing, the sensor's emitter and receiver are housed in two separate units. The emitter is placed opposite the receiver, so that the ight beam goes directly from the emitter to the receiver. An object is detected when it breaks the working part of the beam, known as the effective beam.

The following Gateways are designed to work with the Wireless Q45 Sensors. DIP switches allow the user to select one of the defined I/O mapping configurations to automatically map the Wireless Q45 Sensors to the Gateway.

Model DX80G2M6-Q - DX80G2M6-QC

The SureCross® wireless system is a radio frequency network with integrated I/O that operates in most environments and eliminates the need for wiring runs. Systems are built around a Gateway, which acts as the wireless network master device, and one or more Wireless Q45 Sensors.

• Wireless industrial I/O device with six discrete (sourcing) inputs and six discrete (sourcing) outputs
• DIP switches allow the user to select one of eight defined I/O mapping configurations to automatically map the Nodes' inputs to this Gateway's outputs
• 10 to 30V dc power input
• Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum (FHSS) technology and Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) control architecture ensure reliable data delivery within the unlicensed Industrial, Scientific, and Medical (ISM) band

Application and Technical Notes for the Wireless Q45 Sensors

Using Wireless Q45 Sensors to Call for Parts. Production operators needed a way to easily call the forklift drivers to deliver additional parts or to remove completed assemblies from the work stations. Because the production area is frequently reconfigured when production requirements change, a wired system would require time-consuming rewiring with every reconfiguration.

Monitoring Door Switches Using Wireless Q45 Sensors. A major supplier of bulk food ingredients has recently been asked by its customer to verify the building is secure at all times. To achieve this, multiple door and window access points throughout the plant need to be constantly monitored.

Increasing Production Efficiency with the Wireless Q45 Sensors. Using Wireless Q45 Sensors and EZ-LIGHTs, the customer created a notification system. Each production area has one switch box and one tower light connected to the input on a Wireless Q45 Sensor with dry contact inputs. When a manager or technician is needed on the production line, an employee flips a switch.

Q45 Temperature and Humidity Monitoring Solution. Use the -B2T Gateway, Wireless Q45 Temperature/Humidity Sensor Node, and a Red Lion HMI to monitoring temperature and relative humidity.
