Mighty Module MM4130 Thermocouple Input Isolated Transmitter
MM4130 Thermocouple Input Isolated Transmitter
The MM4130 provides a DC output voltage or current, fully isolated from input, line power and ground, proportional to a thermocouple input signal. It is useful in measuring temperatures with any type of thermocouple. Cold junction compensation is provided by a solid state temperature sensor embedded in the thermocouple terminal strip. The module also includes filtering and conditioning to reduce susceptibility to transients and noisy operations.
The module utilizes a feedback VCO to develop a pulse train with a duty cycle proportional to the input signal amplitude. This pulse train is coupled through a pulse transformer to the output circuitry where the duty cycle data is converted to a proportional DC level in the output circuit. The isolated output eliminates ground loops, large common mode signals and other types of interference.
Upscale burnout protection is provided as standard. In the event the thermocouple opens, the transmitter output will go off scale high. Option B provides downscale burnout protection (transmitter output goes low).
Eliminates ground loops and common mode signals for temperature monitoring, control, and data acquisition.
The module is designed to plug into a standard 8-pin relay socket. Part number MP008 is a molded plastic socket suitable for mounting on a flat surface or in a 2 3/4 inch wide PVC snap track (TRK48). Use CLP-1 hold-down clip, if needed. A Killark HK Series explosion-proof housing with dome and 8-pin socket is available (HKB-HK2D-8). A DIN rail mounted socket (DMP008) is available for 35mm symmetrical DIN rail.
